I have a Bachelors in Music degree from California State University Sacramento and a Masters in Music degree from State University New York at Stony Brook both in Classical Guitar. Besides studying classical music for 10+ years, I put myself through most of college by playing in cover bands where I learned hundreds of songs and more importantly, learned what does and doesn’t work on a real stage.
I’ve also learned what does and doesn’t work with students. Teaching music since the year 2000 at various music schools, I’ve learned how to explain things in a digestible way that maintains a student’s interest, and to teach at a pace that doesn’t leave them in the dust. Regardless of the instrument, the style, or the age, I coax constant improvement from my pupils.
